About Bay Area Community Crew 2015-2016

The Bay Area Community Crew is a school year program to engage youth in comprehensive outdoor experiences, community service, hands-on environmental education and green job training. This program will combine classroom-based environmental learning with experiential community-based activities on the weekends that may include engaging with community gardens, habitat restoration and trail maintenance sites, green businesses, recycling centers and local colleges. The participants will meet twice per month after school at our office in Oakland. In addition, participants must take part in one weekend per month of hands-on conservation learning. Each weekend trip will incorporate a recreation component that may include indoor rock climbing, kayaking, or high ropes courses. After completing the program, students will be eligible for expense paid national or local internships through the SCA
